Washington, June 24 (ANI): Amy Winehouses camp has dismissed her father Mitch Winehouses claim that the troubled singer has emphysema.

The 24-year-olds rep said that the singer is not suffering from emphysema, as revealed by her father to Britain’s Sunday Mirror over the weekend.

Rather, she has “early signs of what could lead to emphysema,” rep Tracey Miller clarified.

Miller added that Mitch was only speaking “out of his concern for her” when he told the press that his daughter was suffering through the early stages of the chronic respiratory disease.

Winehouse was hospitalised last Monday after fainting outside her London home and is currently being treated for chest infection.

In the interview, Mitch said that his daughter damaged her lungs by smoking crack cocaine and cigarettes.

“With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes her lungs are all gunked up. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She’s got 70 percent lung capacity, he said.

“She’s got emphysema. It’s in its early stages, but had it gone on for another month they painted a very vivid picture of her sitting there like an old person with a mask on her face struggling to breathe, he added. (ANI)
