Rahul Gandhi New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): Commenting on Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achutanandan’s ‘Amul Baby’ remark against Rahul Gandhi, former minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor said that while the issue had drawn sharp criticism from the Congress Party, he did not find it insulting.

“Don’t see why “Amul baby”=insult. Amul babies r fit, strong, focused on the future. Symbolise white revolution which brought milk to the masses,” Tharoor tweeted on Wednesday.

Achuthanandan had on Sunday hit back at the Gandhi scion for his jibe at the CPI-M stalwart’s age, calling him an “Amul Baby”.

“Everyone knows Rahul Gandhi is an Amul Baby and he has fielded Amul babies in some constituencies,” said Achuthanandan.

“Grey hair was not the sign of my growing age, neither the young age proof of my youth. Not bowing my head before the bourgeoise is my youth,” he added.

Achuthanandan also countered Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for his criticism that Left rule had done serious damage to Kerala and West Bengal, asking him not to speak with the “hangover of a former IMF officer”. (ANI)
