Amarnath yatra resumes from Jammu
July 30th, 2010 - 1:57 pm ICT by ANIJammu, July 30 (ANI): After remaining suspended for two days due to heavy rains, the Amarnath yatra resumed this morning when a fresh batch of 1982 pilgrims left Jammu for the holy cave shrine.
The pilgrims left for the cave shrine from the base camp of Bhagwati Nagar.
The pilgrims are expected to reach Baltal and Nunwan camps in Pahalgam by the evening.
The yatra was suspended for the last two days due to heavy rains in the Kashmir Valley, which had caused slippery conditions on the tracks from Pahalgam and Baltal camps to the shrine.
Over 3.70 lakh pilgrims have so far offered prayers at the cave shrine since the commencement of the yatra on June 30. (ANI)
