Karachi , Oct 21 (ANI): Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has hailed President Asif Ali Zardaris recent visit to China , saying he deserves great appreciation for his efforts to bring the country out of economic crisis.
According to a MQM statement, Hussain felicitated the President in an hour-long telephone conversation (with him) on his recent successful visit to China .
During their talk, Hussain and Zardari discussed various issues, including the law and order situation, the economy of the country and the prevailing political scenario. They also made detailed deliberations on the electricity crisis, reported the Daily Times.
Hussain said the Presidents visit to China will further the relations between the two countries and said that China has assured its cooperation to Pakistan in telecom sector and in the field of electricity, which the MQM chief termed a huge success.
The confidence of investors in Pakistan is being shattered by the economic situation, terrorism, incidents of kidnapping for ransom and the worsening law and order situation, said Hussain, adding that they are transferring their investments from Pakistan to other countries. He stressed on the need for effective measures to improve the economy to restore the confidence of traders and businessmen.
Hussain also informed the President of his concerns on the increase in electricity costs in Karachi and the anxiety among the people, traders and industrialists.
According to the paper, he also requested the President to provide an opportunity to the traders and industrialists so that they can present their complaints to him. He said that all possible measures should be taken to curb terrorism and that no compromise should be made in the incidents of terrorist activities and kidnapping for ransom. (ANI)
