- Islamabad, Dec 12 (ANI): Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has said that her Pakistani Peoples’ Party might forge an alliance with Nawaz Sharif, but has ruled out joining hands with President Pervez Musharrafs loyalists.
In an interview to The Washington Times, Benazir said she wouldnt join hands with those who are controlled by Musharraf or by Muslim clerics.
No one will accept a Q victory, she said referring to the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
He (Musharraf) has no support in the country. They must ask the police, utilities, hospital staff to come to rallies, said Benazir.
Benazir further said that the Kings party would pick up votes only with illegal support from government officials.
Terming accusations against her and her family as politically motivated, she said, I have not been convicted of any crime.
Yesterday, after returning from Dubai, Benazir said that the presence of the country’s big two parties - her Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PML-N - would help in holding a fair poll in the country.
When the two big parties participate, the government would be exposed if it rigs the elections, said Benazir. (ANI)
