Bangalore, Nov 15 (ANI): Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major today flew Dhruv, the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), which was powered by the Shakthi engine, here today.
The flight, which lasted for over 20 minutes, saw Air Chief Marshal Major take a keen interest in the sophisticated electronic digital control systems and other onboard equipment tailor-made for various missions.
Air Chief Marshal Major described ALH as an “outstanding flying platform with multiple feature.”
“It’s a great feeling to fly a beautiful machine,” he said, after the flight.
The flight was piloted by the Dhruv developer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Deputy Chief Test Pilot Wing Commander (Retired) Unni Pillai.
Air Chief Marshal Major also visited various facilities in the Helicopter Division.
Later, HAL Chairman Ashok K Baweja briefed the Air Chief about the weaponised version of the Dhruv. (ANI)
