New Delhi, Nov. 27 (ANI): All India Minorities Front National President S.M. Asif on Thursday termed the Mumbai terror attacks as a cowardice act of anti-Islamic persons because there is no room for terrorism in Islam.
He said it is also failure of the intelligence network otherwise how could so many terrorists armed with huge quantity of arms and ammunition could enter Mumbai and target innocent and harmless people at Railway stations, hospitals, police stations, buildings and five star hotels among other places.
Asif said the recent blasts and attacks in Merriot hotel in Pakistan was an indication that such places are vulnerable places for attacks but the security agencies failed to keep themselves up for the challenge.
He said that it is a crucial time for the country and now the people will have to train themselves to counter and foil terrorist attacks and designs as the governments have time and again failed the Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi and elsewhere.
The AIMF president assured full co-operation to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in his initiate against terrorism but at the same time urged him to fix the responsibility of collapse of Intelligence network.
He said that when the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Maharashtra had received warnings then why did it remain silent and took no action to track the people sending warnings.
The AIMF supreme also condemned uncalled for picking up of a large number of Muslims in Mumbai and other parts of the country in the name of Mumbai attacks and said that the police should restrain itself to terrorists only and not target a community at large.
He said that such illegal picking up of Muslim youth for the reason of picking their pockets only to fill the pockets of corrupt policemen is also a matter of national concern and is equally condemnable as terrorist attacks. (ANI)
