AIADMK alliance committed to overthrow Congress-DMK compile in assembly polls: Vaiko
January 1st, 2011 - 8:49 pm ICT by ANIChennai, Jan 1 (ANI): Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) chief Vaiko expressing confidence that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) alliance will overthrow the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-Congress alliance in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls due in May, on Saturday demanded a (JPC) probe into the 2G-spectrum scam.
“Alliance is decided by the AIADMK high command, who is going to join alliance, who is going to be the partner that will be decided when the talks takes place. When the occasion comes, when the alliance takes place at that time, we will try and we have taken the decision to overthrow the Congress-DMK compile. We are very strong and we are strongly committed to that,” said Vaiko.
“My wish that they should fight to all means to pressurise and bring forth JPC,” he added impressing upon the opposition demand for a JPC probe into the 2G scam.
Former Telecom Minister A Raja was forced to resign last month after a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) faulted him for undervaluing spectrum to favour companies who were largely ineligible for 2G spectrum, and added that the government had probably lost Rs.1.76 lakh crore in estimated revenue.
