Lahore , May 19 (ANI): Afghanistan s ambassador in Washington, Saeed Jawad has reportedly urged Pakistan to abandon negotiations with tribal elders at areas along the Pak-Afghan border, who, according to him, were militants.
The peace talks Pakistan was holding with militants were causing concern in Kabul , the Daily Times quoted Jawad as saying in Washington in an interview with a TV channel.
He added that peace settlement with militants without safeguards against cross-border infiltration would lead to violence in Afghanistan .
According to the report, Jawads comments echoed US concerns regarding the peace talks, though the US has not asked Pakistan to abandon these talks. (ANI)
