98 grenades seized in J-K

Jammu, Nov 8 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday recovered 98 grenades of AK launcher at Supwal area of Samba sector of the state
Grenades were concealed in a large bag and hidden under an under construction bridge.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Samba, Raghubir Singh said the bag was spotted by some resident of the area, who informed the police about the bag. A police party rushed immediately to the spot along with a Bomb Disposal Squad and seized the bag, which was found containing 98 grenades of AK launcher.
The grenades were live. However, they appeared to be part of an old consignment hidden by the militants under the bridge for picking it up at an opportune time but they failed due to presence of police and alertness of people, Singh said.
Police have launched a search operation in the area. (ANI)
