91-year-old woman stuck beneath her car for two days after dropping her keys

July 8th, 2008 - 3:08 pm ICT by ANI -

London, July 8 (ANI): Talk of the bizarre, and this incident would almost assuredly fit the bill.A 91-year-old woman based in the Milwaukee suburb of Greendale in Wisconsin, was stuck under car for two days after she failed to locate her car keys under the vehicle.
According to the Telegraph, Betty Borowski got jammed beneath the axle and it was not until a postman noticed letters piling up in her letterbox that she was found.
Borowski was taken to a hospital and put in the critical intensive care, her niece Nancy DiMarco said. The hospital would not give an update on her condition yesterday.
Borowski, who lives alone, got stuck under her car on June 29. Apparently, her head got pinned by the axle, Greendale Police Chief Rob Dams was quoted, as saying.
Borowski’’s mail carrier noticed that the previous day’’s mail was still in her mailbox, police said. He rang the doorbell and then asked a neighbour whether he had seen Borowski lately. He hadn”t, so they called police.
Firefighters lifted the car with a jack and removed Borowski, who was dehydrated and confused. It turned out her keys were in the car door. (ANI)
