London ,Nov 2 (ANI): A new poll in the UK has revealed that around 80 percent of the Britishers want Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama to win the race for the White House.
Also, they believe that Obama, who looks certain to be Americas first black president, will make the world a safer place than his Republican rival John McCain, and that the risk of future wars and other global threats will be reduced if Obama becomes leader of the free world, The Mirror quoted the findings of the Sunday Mirror/ICM poll as saying.
According to the paper, of those quizzed, 66 per cent said that they would back Obama, while just 15 per cent supported McCain. But, once undecided voters are excluded from the results, 81 per cent back Obama with 19 per cent supporting McCain, said the findings of the poll.
A total of 56 per cent said Obama would make the world safer, and only 11 per cent believed it would be more dangerous with him in the Oval Office.
Meanwhile, Obamas astronomical rise has led the Brits to believe that their country might also have a black PM within a decade. Four out of every ten people think Britain will have its first black PM within a decade, although 15 per cent think it will never happen. (ANI)
