6.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Chile
March 6th, 2011 - 8:30 pm ICT by ANIArica (Chile), Mar 6(ANI): A 6.3 magnitude earthquake reportedly struck northern Chile on Sunday.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake struck about 60 kilometres east of Arica at a depth of 120 kilometres.
Arica is a port city with a population of 185,268 in the Arica Province of northern Chile’s Arica and Parinacota Region, located 18 kilometres south of the border with Peru.
The city is the capital of both the Arica Province and the Arica and Parinacota Region. (ANI)
