6 killed as lorry falls into ditch in Bihar

- Jamui (Bihar), June 7 (ANI): At least six labourers died and nine others left wounded, five of them critically, when a lorry carrying them fell into a ditch on Bestitand-Simartala road near Bela village in Bihar’s Jamui district on Sunday.
The lorry was carrying around 38 to 40 labourers who were to reach Birajpur village from Chakai for some construction work.
According to the police, the incident took place when the lorry’s driver lost its control over it while overtaking a bus near Bela.
One labourer died on the spot while five others succumbed to their injuries at the Chakai Referral Hospital in the district.
The injured were rushed to a hospital in neighbouring Deoghar of Jharkhand where condition of five injured was stated to be critical. (ANI)
