5 suspected LI militants arrested in Lahore

Lahore , July 4 (ANI): Pakistan law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested five suspected militants, belonging to the Lashkar-e-Islam (LI), while plotting suicide attacks in Lahore .

The suspected militants were arrested from an apartment at Akbar Chowk located in the Township locality of the Punjab province capital.

The suspects were seized with suicide-bomb jackets, explosives, weapons and two vans in a raid, reported the Daily Times.

According to the paper, officials of the two main intelligence agencies said that the arrested men belonged to the Lashkar-e-Islam (LI).

LI, however, denied that the suspected militants were its members. (ANI)
