39th IFFI to host Wong Kar Wai retrospective in association with Palador
November 19th, 2008 - 8:11 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI/Business Wire India): Palador, the undisputed leader in the World Cinema category with over 1,000 of the best and most awarded films, is all set to make its presence felt at the 39th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) by screening four movies from its extensive library.
“In the Mood for Love”, “Fallen Angels”, “Happy Together” will be showcased under Cinema of the World section as part of Wong Kar Wai Retrospective while “Floating Clouds” by (Mikio Naruse) has been short listed under IFFI Goa Film Treasures. IFFI 2008 will take place in Goa from November 23 to December 2 this year.
Elaborating on Palador’’s participation in the festival, Gautam Shiknis, Founder and Managing Director, Palador Pictures said, “IFFI is an upcoming international platform. With the support of major film distributors and production houses in India and abroad, it can also become one of the top international film festivals. This year we are participating with four movies and hope to reach a huge number of discerning World Cinema fans across India through it.”
He further added, “IFFI provides great opportunities through Film Bazaar and this year we have also registered our participation in the same. Through this, Palador intends to explore local and international co-production projects and enter into joint productions starting next year”
