By Tahir Nadeem Khan Jammu, Dec.7 (ANI): As many as 3,023 public meetings and rallies have been organized in Jammu and Kashmir in this election season.
In Kashmir division, 1,641 rallies and 1,382 rallies in Jammu division have been organised by various political parties and candidates so far, since the announcement of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir on October 19. In total there were 525 mega rallies, out of which 280 were organized in Kashmir division and 245 in Jammu division. Of the total rallies and public meetings held in the State so far, 663 were organized by National Conference (NC), 587 by the Congress, 558 by the People’’s Democratic Party (PDP), 209 by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 123 by National Panthers Party (NPP), 99 by Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), 61 by People’’s Democratic Front (PDF), 60 by Awami National Conference (ANC), 50 each by JK Democratic Party (N) and Samajwadi Party, 34 each by Lok Jan Shakti and PNF, 15 by Bhartiya Bahujan Party J-K, 11 each by Communist Party of India-Marxist CPI (M) and Jammu State Morcha, six each by NCP and All India Forward Block, five each by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Awami League, four by Kranti Dal, three each by Socialist Democratic Party and National Bahujan Party, two each by Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), Janata Dal-United (JD-U), Samta Party and People’’s Revolutionary Movement, one each by Jammu State Morcha (P), LUTF and Rashtriya Lok Dal and 182 by independents.
In addition, 233 public meetings, including 159 in Kashmir division and 74 in Jammu division, were held by various political parties and independent candidates during the past two days alone. In Kashmir division, out of 1,641 public meetings held so far, 434 were organized by PDP, 388 by NC, 239 by Congress, 60 by PDF, 50 by ANC, 46 by JK Democratic Party (N), 34 each by BJP and People’’s National Front, 26 by SP, 21 by NPP, 18 by Lok Jan Shakti, 10 each by BSP and CPI (M), five each by RJD, Awami League and All India Forward Block, three each by NCP and Socialist Democratic Party, one each by JD(S), JD(U), Samta Party, National Bahujan Party, LUTF and Rashtriya Lok Dal and 85 by independent candidates.
Besides that, out of the total 1,641 public meetings held in Kashmir division, 159 were organized in the last two days alone by various political parties and independent candidates in the valley. In Jammu division, out of 1,382 rallies, 348 were organized by Congress, 275 by NC, 175 by BJP, 124 by PDP, 102 by NPP, 89 by BSP, 24 by SP, 16 by Lok Jan Shakti, 15 by Bhartiya Bahujan Party J-K, 11 by Jammu State Morcha, 10 by ANC, four each by JK Democratic Party (N) and Kranti Dal, three by NCP, two each by People’’s Revolutionary Movement and National Bahujan Party and one each by PDF, CPI (M), JD(S), JD(U), Samta Party, Jammu State Morcha (P) and All India Forward Block and 97 by independents.
Besides, out of the total 1,382 public meetings held in Jammu division, 74 were organized during the last two days of the campaigning by various political parties and independent candidates. (ANI)
