3 die, 120 hospitalised for drinking contaminated water in Maharashtra
March 7th, 2010 - 9:19 pm ICT by ANISolapur (Maharashtra), March 7 (ANI): At least three people died and about 120 had to be hospitalised as they reportedly drank contaminated water in Maharashtra’s Solapur district here.
Following the incident, a case of negligence by the City Health Officer and Water Supply Officer has been registered with Solapur police station.
The case has been registered under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) - culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Saibaba Nagar and Kranti Nagar was the worst affected areas of the city, stated a Times Now report. (ANI)
