22 passengers killed as bus falls into gorge near Dharamsala
November 6th, 2009 - 5:43 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), Nov 6 (ANI): At least 22 passengers were killed and 48 injured when an overcrowded bus rolled down a gorge near Haripur area of Kangra district, about 45 km from Dharamsala.
The bus driver lost control of the vehicle, which was on its way to Dehra from Nagrota Suriyan. It fell into the 100-feet deep gorge, said Atul Fulzele, Superintendent of Police.
The injured have been admitted to the Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda. The casualty figure is expected to rise.
Senior civil and police officers are at the accident site monitoring rescue operations. (ANI)
