Peshawar, Dec. 5 (ANI): At least 20 have been killed and more than 80 injured in a high intensity blast near Imam Bargah in Koocha Risaldar area of Peshawar today.
Inspector General of Police, North West Front Province, Malik Naveed Khan said while talking to a news channel that about 20 to 25 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast which was planted in a vehicle.
The explosion has left a crater on the ground which indicates the blast was not a suicide attack, The News quoted Khan, as saying.
The injured are being taken to nearby hospitals.
Ambulances and rescue teams headed towards the blast site a congested area that has been cordoned off by the police.
Windowpanes of the nearby buildings were shattered by the blast, which also damaged many shops and vehicles. (ANI)
