17 killed in Maharashtra bus accident
March 17th, 2011 - 2:38 pm ICT by ANINagpur, Mar 17 (ANI): At least seventeen pilgrims were killed and 28 others injured when a bus carrying them fell off a bridge in Maharashtra’s Buldana District today.
The mishap took place when the bus was returning from Omkareshwar pilgrim centre in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh to Wardha at around 4 a.m.
According to sources, the bus was crossing a bridge on the Talaswada bridge on Nalganga river when it suddenly crashed on the railings and fell into the 70-foot-deep gorge.
Relief and rescue operations are going on.
All the injured have been admitted to hospital. (ANI)
