16th Technology Summit kicks off in New Delhi
December 7th, 2010 - 8:53 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Dec 7 (ANI): The 16th Technology Summit began here on Tuesday with Germany as the partner country.
The Secretary Department of Science and Technology, Dr.T.Ramasamy, inaugurated the two-day event jointly with the state secretary of Germany Thomas Rachel.
“The focus areas for this year’s summit are Lean and Green-Opportunities for Collaboration in the Manufacturing Sector, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Manufacturing, IT, Solar Energy and Water Technologies,” said Dr.Ramasamy.
“The major outcome of the previous summits have been large number of technology tie-ups between Indian industry and organizations of the partner country,” he added, while expressing hope that joint research and development projects, joint ventures and collaborative projects in Public Private Partnership mode will take place in the current year as well.
Thomas Rachel, while speaking on the occasion, said that excellent opportunities exist between the two nations for enhancing bilateral trade and cooperation. (ANI)
