13 militants formally surrender before Manipur Chief Minister

Imphal, Apr 22 (ANI): In a significant development, thirteen cadres of the Dima Halam Daogah - Jewel (DHD-J) faction recently surrendered with arms and ammunition before Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh. In a formal ceremony at Manipur IGAR auditorium, DHD-J cadres, whose area of operation is mostly confined in Assam laid down their arms and decided to return to the mainstream.

They handed over one ak-47 rifle two 9 mm SMC one g-3 rifle two lathode guns, and seven 9mm pistols.”I think it is very difficult for surrendered cadre to take a decision, a young man who have been mislead, for them to give it up and to get back to the society, family its not easy because there are lots of fear in his mind so, he need support, courage from all of us so, we are trying our best and I think there is a bright future ahead for it,” said CA Krishnan, Major General, IGAR (South).
