12 killed, seven injured in Jammu and Kashmir road mishap
November 3rd, 2009 - 7:31 pm ICT by ANIKathua (Jammu and Kashmir), Nov 3 (ANI): At least 12 people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway at Bagial in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
According to reports, the mishap took place around 1.45 a.m. when a tempo had a head on collision with a passenger bus, which was on its way from Jammu to Delhi.
The injured, including five women and two children were rushed to nearby district hospital in Kathua.
Five people were discharged after first aid, while two were referred to Jammu for treatment.
The police suspect that the accident was due to over speeding.
“It seems as if both the vehicles were running at very high speed,” said Surinder Rao, Station House Officer (SHO), Kathua. (ANI)
