12 hurt as Gandhidham-Bangalore Express derails near Thane
November 4th, 2009 - 12:07 pm ICT by ANIThane (Mumbai), Nov 4 (ANI): At least twelve persons sustained minor injuries when twelve coaches of the Bangalore bound Gandhidham Express derailed at Bhiwandi in Maharashra’s Thane district this morning.
“Twelve coaches of Gandhidham Express were derailed when the train was approaching Bhiwandi in Thane district. Twelve passengers sustained injuries,” said the Central Railways PRO, A K Jain.
Another train has been sent to the accident site to take the passengers of the Gandhidham Express, said Jain.
The train has left for Bangalore and the relief works are on, he added.
This incident has not affected local train services along the Central and Harbour railway lines. (ANI)
