11 killed, 20 injured as train hits truck in Uttar Pradesh
November 1st, 2009 - 8:18 pm ICT by ANIGonda (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 1 (ANI): At least 11 people were killed and over 20 others injured on Sunday, when a passenger train hit a truck at an unmanned railway crossing in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district.
The accident took place around 1.30 p.m. when a Gorakhpur-Ayodhya passenger train hit the truck at Kalyanpur railway crossing in Gonda.
According to reports, nine train passengers and the driver of the truck were among the victims. The injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of some people were said to be serious.
Meanwhile, senior railway officials have also ordered a probe into the incident. (ANI)
