Work on AIIMS-like institution to begin in Chhattisgarh

- Raipur, Nov 4 (IANS) Construction work on a Rs.329 crore (Rs.3.29 billion) AIIMS-like institution will begin in this Chattisgarh capital next month, a health official said here Wednesday.
The 960-bedded All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-like institution will come up in Tatibandh area of Raipur. The first phase of college and hostel will be completed in 15 months at a cost of Rs.123 crore, the official told IANS.
The second phase of construction work for Super Speciality Hospital Complex will take two years to complete. The institution will have its own nursing college as well.
The official said once the institution is constructed, it will replace Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital as Chhattisgarh’s largest government-run medical institution.
The institution will be set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
