Woman dies of swine flu in Delhi, toll rises to 15
August 13th, 2010 - 8:16 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 13 (IANS) A woman died of swine flu here Friday, taking the toll due to H1N1 to 15 in the city, an official said.
The 27-year-old woman was a resident of Delhi and admitted to the Ganga Ram Hospital.
Meanwhile, 27 more confirmed cases have been reported in the capital as the total number of patients infected by the Influenza A (H1N1) virus reached 281 this year, Debashish Bhattacharya, nodal officer for swine flu, told IANS.
“Twenty-seven people tested positive for swine flu,” Bhattacharya added.
According to the health ministry, 1,853 swine flu deaths have occurred in India till Aug 10 - since its outbreak in May last year.
The ministry has asked the states and union territories to make vaccination against H1N1 mandatory, if required.
