weightMay 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Food and Drug Administration of the United States has declared that regular use of the weight loss pills such as Xenical and Alli can lead to severe liver damage. In fact the warning has been issued for only these two drugs. However, the federal authorities have also maintained that the damage has, so far, been seen only in very rare cases, and it cannot, at all, be called rampant. However, the authorities warn, that dos not mean that the people who consume these weight loss pills have any reason to relax, as the damage caused by the pills can be severe, and often fatal.

The Food and Drug Administration, however, have not been able to determine so far as to what exactly causes the liver damage, although it is pretty certain that these particular weight loss pills definitely bring about the problems. However, they have asked the ones who consume the products to make sure that they don not get any symptoms of liver damage, that is, loss of appetite, itchy sensations, and yellowing skin and eyes. The Food and Drug Administration authorities came to this conclusion after a worldwide survey of those who consume these pills, and it was found that 13 of them had incurred some form of liver injury.

Following the findings, the Food and Drug authorities went on to issue an order to the manufacturers of these two drugs to include a warning about possible liver damage as a side effect on the packages. The two manufacturers have not been available for comment so far.
