Feb 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Doctors are warning people against following the parasite diets that have suddenly gained a lot of popularity among weight loss freaks. Medical experts insist that these diets are in no way what they claim to be, in fact, they are quite harmful and can even lead to death. The Health Department of the United States have issued the warning against following the diet. The parasite diet involves consumption of the intestinal parasites such as the tapeworm in order to lose fat, for it is known that these parasites eat away the fat, and thus does not let it accumulate.
The parasite diet may sound really disgusting to some, as it involves eating the worms live, although they may also come in the form of pills. The diet is being advertised in many websites, accounting for its sudden popularity. The American Health Department has issued a warning against it, making it very clear that the consumption of the parasites may lead to some very serious consequences. Problems such as pancreatic duct obstruction and intestinal biliary tract may occur if the infestation of the parasite grows to a large extent.
Moreover, the parasites are also known to affect other organs, like the lungs. In all of these cases, the consequences may be fatal. Besides, if one consumes the parasites, there are chances that he or she will suffer from severe abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, distension and malnutrition, all the consequences that normally succeed an intestinal parasite infestation. It has been suggested by the health department that people resort to only those weight loss solutions that are healthy, or at least do not result in serious health complications.
