US health regulator approves Chennai drug plant
June 22nd, 2011 - 6:30 pm ICT by IANSChennai, June 22 (IANS) US health regulator, US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), has approved the cephalosporin active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility of the Chennai based bulk drug major Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
According to a statement issued by Orchid Chemicals here Wednesday, the company’s oral and sterile cephalosporin API plant at Alathur near here has “successfully cleared the recent USFDA inspection.”
This would enable Orchid Chemicals to continue supply of the niche API made at the plant to markets like the US, Europe and Japan.
