Paris, France, Apr 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A particular form of breast implants have been taken off the market by the authorities in France. the product, which is being described as a French manicured kind, has been pulled off as it was discovered that the company that manufactured it, the Poly Implant Prothese, had not reported correctly the kind of silicone that was being used for the manufacture of the implant. Authorities fear that about 40,000 women in Britain have already purchased the implants, but no official warning has been issued as no evidence suggests that it may in any way be harmful to the user.
However, the Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency has issued a regulation, asking plastic surgeons not to make use of the implant. They have also been instructed to quarantine any existing samples of the product. The patients who have already made use of the implants, and are concerned about the ill-effects they might have, have been requested to contact their plastic surgeon. However, a consultant surgeon of the British Association of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, Nigel Mercer, assured that there is no chance, so far, of the silicone gel seeping into the body.
The models that have been pulled off the market are the IMGHC-TX, IMGHC-LS and the IMGHC-MX. They have been on the market for the last three years, and things began to look suspicious after numerous complaints came in about the models breaking. It has been reported that out of all those who had used the products, about a thousand would be given replacements. A French court has ruled the closure of the plant. The employees have been laid off.
