Two women die after sterilisation in Bihar
December 27th, 2010 - 12:07 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Dec 27 (IANS) Two women died after undergoing a sterilisation operation at a primary health centre in Bihar’s Purnia district, police said Monday.Gunjan Devi, 25, and Somna Devi, 28, died late Saturday soon after the surgery at a sterilisation camp at Barhara Kothi primary health centre in Purnia, about 350 km from here.
“Their family members say the doctors are responsible for their deaths,” a police official said.
According to district health officials, 21 women were sterilised at the camp Saturday.
The district administration has ordered a probe into the case, the official added.
