Tualatin Valley Water District Declares It’s Water Safe

Tualatin Valley, Nov. 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Officials of the Tualatin Valley Water District have posted a brief notice on it’s website in order to notify the people of the area that the water in that particular district is free of E coli contamination. The notice states that the residents of that area need not boil the water for drinking purposes. The notice comes after the city of Portland issued it’s boiled water notice.
The Portland Water Bureau notified the residents of that area to boil the water that is delivered, before drinking. The water that is delivered to the residents of the area by the Portland Water Bureau is taken from the reservoir 3 in Washington Park. The water in the reservoir has been detected with E coli, a form of bacteria. The areas affected by this notice are the ones that receive water from the Burlington, Palatine Hill, Portland Water Bureau and the Valley View Water Districts.
As per the notice issued by the officials of the Tualatin Valley Water District, the areas that receive water from this body will be safe form the fear of drinking contaminated water. The residents of the areas who would be affected by the Tualatin Valley Water District notice are: Washington County, Tigard Oregon, Hillsboro and certain parts of Beaverton. The Tualatin Valley Water District supplies it’s water from the Portland Water Bureau and the Joint Water Commission. For the time being while the water in the Portland Water Bureau is under the process of purification, the department will be sourcing it’s water from the Joint Water Commission.
