Three swine flu deaths in Chandigarh
December 8th, 2009 - 12:24 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chandigarh, Dec 7 (IANS) Three deaths due to influenza A (H1N1) virus were reported here Monday, health officials said here.
“Two persons died at PGIMER (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) while the third person died at a private hospital in the city. Five new positive cases were also reported - two each from Chandigarh and Ambala town in Haryana, while one is from neighbouring Panchkula town,” H.C. Gera, union territory nodal officer for swine flu said Monday.
So far, over 160 positive cases of swine flu have come to city hospitals. Over a dozen persons have died due to the swine flu virus in this region, till date.
