Swine flu kills four in capital, Delhi toll 52 (Lead)
December 17th, 2009 - 10:38 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 17 (IANS) At least four people died due to swine flu in Delhi Thursday, taking the toll due to Influenza A (H1N1) in the city to 52, authorities said.
Though details of all victims were not available, a 25-year-old woman died of swine flu at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
The woman was admitted to RML Hospital Dec 11 and died Thursday afternoon, Anjana Prakash, the additional nodal officer handling swine flu cases in Delhi, told IANS.
Delhi also recorded 131 new cases of swine flu Thursday. Of these, 72 were children. This has taken the cumulative total number of swine flu cases in the capital to 7,942, Prakash said.
