Swine flu death toll rises to 6

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IBNS) A 4-year-old Chennai boy in Chennai and a Pune doctor died of the flu on Monday morning taking the toll in India to six.
Dr Babasaheb Mane, the Ayurvedic doctor is the third person to lose his life due to the H1N1 virus in Pune. Mane, who was admitted to the Sasoon Hospital, died this morning due to swine flu, a senior health official said.

Mane was ailing for sometime and there was blood in his cough for the last couple of days, officials said.

Pune reported India’s first swine flu death on August 3 with 14-year-old Reeda Sheikh succumbing to the disease.

On Saturday, 53-year-old Fahmida Panwala from Mumbai and 42-year-old teacher Sanjay Tukaram Kokre from Pune had died of swine flu. On Saturday, A 43-year-old NRI succumbed to the pandemic in Ahmedabad.
