Swine flu: 2nd death in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IBNS) With a 31-year-old man dying of the deadly H1N1 virus, Delhi reported the second swine flu death on Thursday.

“ Samrat Pandey, was admitted to RML hospital with serious symptoms of swine flu and had been on ventilator till Thursday. His condition fast deteriorated and he died around noon,” doctors at RML hospital told reporters today.

On Wednesday, a 38-year-old woman died of swine flu here.

However, state health officials said both the deceased went to private hospitals first and that delayed proper treatment, leading to their death.

“There is no need to panic. The two persons, who died on Wednesday and Thursday respectively, had recently travelled to affected countries. The woman had returned from Singapore with swine flu symptoms Aug 15,” a health officer said.
