Bangalore, June 16 (IANS) A Swedish national was quarantined here Tuesday with symptoms of swine flu (HINI) infection, an official said.
The Swede, along with an Indian, arrived from Thailand at the Bangalore airport Tuesday. They were admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD).
The blood samples of both would be sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for tests, RGICD director Shashidhar Buggi told IANS.
The test result of an Indian man who works with Air France and has been quarantined at the RGICD since Monday is yet to arrive from the NIV.
“A total of six throat swabs samples of the suspected patients were sent to the NIV for tests Monday,” said Buggi.
A 29-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter, the first two confirmed swine flu cases from Bangalore, are currently being treated with dosages of Tamiflu at the RGICD.
