New York, April 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Doctors in the United States are worried about a new disturbing trend. Without any known reasons, doctors say girls are reaching puberty at record younger years. Doctors say girls are reaching puberty earlier in their lives nowadays than any other times in history. Comparatively, girls in the 1800s were reaching their puberty at the age of 16 and 17 while girls in the 1900s menstruated at the age of 14.

Doctors say new data reveal that about 15% of all American girls now reach puberty at the tender age of seven years but that cannot be described as the worst part. The worry is that doctors have no idea why girls are reaching their puberty so early in life nowadays.

In a study that was published in the journal Pediatrics last year, it was revealed that as many as 23 percent of black girls in the United States reach puberty by the age of 7. The number though is quite lower in white Americans. The research which involved about 1,239 girls revealed that 10 percent of whites hit puberty by the age of 7.

The trend has got doctors worried because girls at tender ages may not have developed requisite growth of their brains, which could in turn pose a danger them.
