New York, Jun 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Here’s one more reason to gulp that cup of coffee without any guilt. As a new study indicates that coffee cuts the risk of cancer. The results of the study indicate that coffee cuts the risk of developing head and neck cancers.
Prior to this as well, there have been numerous studies on the link between coffee and cancer. But they have always showed mixed results. One of the earlier studies indicated that coffee drinkers tend to have lower rates of kidney and ovarian cancers. However the researchers were amazed to find that coffee drinking had to effect at all on people who had colon cancer.
To collaborate the results of this new study, the researchers compiled the results of 9 previous studies and found the connection between coffee and the cancer risk. Coffee is best known for one of its constituents – caffeine, but coffee also has more than a thousand other chemicals such cafestol and kahweol. These chemicals are said to fight cancer.
The researchers also added that the more cups of coffee that people drank, the lower was their cancer risk. All the people who had more than 4 cups of coffee a day, had managed to cut down their risk of cancer by more than one-third.
