South Korea reports first swine flu death
August 15th, 2009 - 9:22 pm ICT by IANSSeoul, Aug 15 (DPA) South Korean health authorities Saturday reported the country’s first death from swine flu.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said the victim was a man in his mid-50s who likely died from pneumonia and other complications resulting from the H1N1 virus.
KCDC said the man was struck by high fever after his return from a trip to Thailand a week ago and was sent to hospital, where he was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.
