Rapid City, S.D., Jan 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Marguerite Engle has set a unique record, which she is surely not going to be very proud of in future. The 45 year old South Dakota woman was found unconscious by authorities on December 1, in a stolen delivery van on a highway. Later it was revealed that she was driving under the influence of alcohol and the level of alcohol found in her body was about nine times above the permissible legal limit.
Jesse Sondreal, Meade County State’s Attorney later stated that the woman was found passed out behind the wheels of the vehicle with an astounding .708 percent blood alcohol level in her body. Moreover, it has also come to light that the blood alcohol content found in Marguerite Engle’s case might be the highest ever recorded in South Dakota, where the legal limit is .08 percent. Although, research reveal that .40 of blood alcohol content turns out to be deadly for around 50 percent of the population, the South Dakota woman had almost double the amount.
Meanwhile, after being taken into custody, Marguerite Engle was taken to a nearby medical facility in Sturgis and was later released on bail. However, the story of misadventure of the woman did not just end here as she was discovered drunk in a vehicle again earlier this week- along a highway in Sturgis. She is now being held without bail after the judge slammed her with charges of two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. At the same time, the South Dakota woman, who had earlier missed her court hearings, can also face theft charges for appearing in stolen vehicles.
