Second swine flu case reported in Himachal Pradesh
September 25th, 2009 - 10:02 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Sep 25 (IANS) An MBA student in Himachal Pradesh has tested positive for Influenza A (H1N1) virus, making her the second case of swine flu in the state, a health department official said Friday.
“Medical reports of an MBA student of Chitkara University have tested positive,” nodal officer Vinod Mehta told IANS.
He said since the student belonged to Panchkula town in Haryana, she has been admitted to the Post Graduate Institute in Chandigarh.
“A team of doctors Friday visited the university to educate and examine other students,” he said.
The university is in Baddi town in Solan district, some 85 km from here. The first swine flu case in the state was reported from Shimla Aug 16.
