Washington, Mar 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The members of the Dallas Tea Party organized a CODE RED rally before the Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Mar 16, 2010. The rally, as was evident from the slogan mouthed by the members, “Kill the bill,” was launched in order to stop the Senate from passing the heath care bill that the administration of President Barack Obama has been advocating for so long. It has been reported that the Republicans in the House have been inciting the Dallas Tea Party members to hold on to the campaign till the coming Sunday, assuring them that half the battle would be won if they can prove that they are not giving up.
The Republicans have also been reported to have assured the campaigners that they are certain to attain victory in this long fight. The assurances of the Republican leaders come despite the fact that the Press Secretary of the White House, Robert Gibbs, had earlier confirmed, with much confidence, that the bill would be passed soon, and would be with the President for the final procedures.
The campaigners were incited by the Republicans to carry on their movement, saying that it was important to send the message to the White House that the people of the country would not be giving up on their claims. They further said that the White House did not pay any heed to the requests of those people who vote against a government takeover of health care, despite the many public meetings held. The Tea Partiers also resorted to constant phone calls and emails, thus jamming the phone lines of the White House for a greater part of the afternoon.
