December 28th, 2009 - 2:59 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Moscow, Dec 28 (RIA Novosti) A dog infected with rabies had bitten dozens of people in southeastern Moscow before being caught, authorities said.
A number of media reports had said that a dog showing symptoms of rabies had attacked and bitten at least 50 people in the neighbouring district of Vykhino.
“The dog has been caught and diagnosed with rabies,” a source in the local administration said.
The district administration said on its website that all people who sought medical help after stray dog attacks have been vaccinated against the disease, without giving the exact number of those bitten.
It said 118 stray dogs have been caught in the area in December and all of them are being tested for rabies.
