Washington, Mar 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The United States Food And Drug Administration has asked consumer product giant Procter and Gamble for Pringles recall. The company in accordance to the orders issued by the Food And Drug Administration has promised to recall all of the 80,000 Pringles Potato Snack packets. It is believed that all those packets of Pringles Potato snacks contains contaminated salmonella which is a genetically modified preservative that is prohibited in Japan.
The urgency to recall the Pringles packs was all due to Basic Food Flavors which is a company based in Las Vegas that is the sole producer of HVP (Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein), which is reportedly found to be contaminated when in contact with salmonella. Salmonella turns out to be a bacterial infection which is a major contributor in cases of food poisoning. Salmonella food if swallowed or engulfed can result in serious issues of blood contamination along with prominent symptoms like fever, diarrhea, nausea and severe chills in the body.
However, it has been reported that there had been no cases of any salmonella contamination or any major cases of food poisoning so far. A spokesman for the consumer product giant declared that there were no such cases of food poisoning reported in the United States and Canada. The two prominent flavors of Pringles which are reported to have been affected by salmonella contamination are Super Stack Canister: Pringles Restaurant Cravers Cheeseburger and the Taco Night, Super Stack Canister. The Pringles snacks are a new addition to the list of all products which falls under the newly established GM laws of Japan that came into force in April last year.
