turkey-soupNov 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It looks like many have found themselves clueless about what to do with the leftover turkey meat and stuffing on the day after Thanksgiving. The turkey soup is thus one of the most popular dishes in households across the world. Though there are several variations to the soup recipe available on the web, many prefer sticking to the traditional vegetables cooked in chicken broth with slices of turkey thrown in the mix.

The typical turkey soup recipe is an easy one which involves cooking the vegetables till they are soft and fragrant and then adding the chicken broth and turkey slices. Ordinary seasoning like oregano, basil and pepper works well if added in the finale. Another popular variation that has been quite popular on the web today is the Asian variation where lemon grass and a bit of hot chili sauce is added to the soup during the cooking. Cilantro is also added as a finishing touch to this variety. Egg noodles are preferred in this recipe to give it a dose of carbohydrates and vitamins. For those who like the taste of the turkey too much, it is better to add slices instead of chopped turkey from the leftovers.

One should also keep in mind that soups can be frozen for future emergencies and it is by far a better alternative than wasting the expensive meat. A high-fibre soup can also be a healthy option considering that the digestive system has a lot to deal with on Thanksgiving. One of the most important items for the soup, the chicken stock, is also in great demand at the moment.
