Pollen Forecast
April 13th, 2010 - 8:42 pm ICT by Pen Men At WorkApril 13, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Specialists have mentioned that drier weather conditions in the forecast this week will make the impending pollen season even more bothersome for the people sensitive to it. Each spring, summer and fall, little particles known as pollen are discharged from the trees, weeds and grasses.
But it is not that all the pollens released reach their targets. Many a time, they get into human noses and throats and produce allergy. Millions of people suffer from sneezing, coughing, itching, runny noses, and watering eyes when the pollen begins to fly.
Dry weather joined with lesser humidity levels and shortage of rain intensifies pollen levels. Staying indoors when the pollen count is high may not help much as there is no simple way to dodge some windborne pollen.
Dr. Christopher Smith from Allergists with Asthma and Allergy Associates goes on that allergies are one of the most widespread reasons with respect to chronic diseases, which limit people’s abilities to do things.
Tree pollen is typically the worst in March, April and early May while grass pollen reaches its highest towards the end of April into May and June. Specialists have advised people to wear sunglasses and hats to steer clear of pollen from getting into eyes. They also ask people to remain indoors between 5 and 10 AM because that is when pollen peaks.
