Hong Kong, Feb 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is a new dieting fad sweeping across Hong Kong, and it is none other than the parasite diet. There are numerous websites that proclaim to the dieting crowd that ingesting parasites and worms is the latest way to lose weight. They are also advertising worm-based products to the dieters, who want to lose weight without sweating it out in the gym.
However the medical experts are trying to warn the unsuspecting public that this might actually be very harmful for them. Parasites like the roundworm and the tapeworms can even prove fatal, if the infestations grow in the body. The worms might also invade other organs of the body, and ultimately they might even cause death. Another popular worm used by dieters is said to be pig whipworm, which is said to be useful in keeping the immune system balanced. The website wormtheraphy.com says that this worm is beneficial for the treatment of asthma and allergies.
For those people who want to diet all the same, but are very particular about what they are swallowing, needn’t despair. The Hong Kong worm dieters have found a way around that too, in the form of worms that are available in pills.
